Say Goodbye to the old wives tale that says "Never wear White after Labor Day" . There is something very classic and refreshing about wearing All White. Or try a Monochromatic look and mix Pure White with Arctic White, Cream or light Tan. If you are following the "Fall Closet Outfit Planner" you have already added some pieces to your wardrobe in an Arctic White Shade. Arctic White can be one of your new neutrals if you choose. So pile on a few crisp white pieces and ensure you will look extra polished. Here are some style inspirations from the Streets.
Even if your day revolves around running errands, meeting friends at Starbucks or shuttling Kids (or Grandkids in my case) to and from lessons you can still look stylish in a more casual kind of way.
Here are 5 Tips to keeping your All White Outfit on Trend and Fresh:
Make sure your pants are an on trend style that works well with your body type. Don't go for high-waisted jeans if they don't work on your body. I listed my top picks below.
Go Monochromatic and mix different shades of White from Pure White to Arctic White, Light Cream and even Classic Camel. This gives you more options and lets you ease into this All White Trend. When you have a little bit of time try on and practice with some outfits that you would not normally wear.
Work the proportion of your pants to the shoe choices you make. A wide cropped pant looks great styled with chunkier boots, clogs or Thick Soled Sneakers. A thin tapered pant leg looks great with a sandal or ankle booties. I am loving fury slides for most pant styles both tapered and wide. Another great look is the white bootie with all white outfits
Wearing All White can make you look lean contrary to popular belief. It's really all about the way you style the outfit. If you are a b or an O body type and have a little fluff around your middle leave your top hang down longer than your middle or try a french tuck. If you are a d or an X body type tuck all you want and accentuate the waistline.
White does have a tendency to get soiled easier than your go-to darker pieces of clothing for Fall and Winter so keeping your clothing clean will be something you'll want to watch. Many Cottons can be washed in warm water but for your Cashmere and Wool you will need to dry clean or use the hand wash cycle on your machine and hang dry. I try to avoid dry cleaning to save both time and money but some of you may find it a big convenience.
My top picks for White Pants ranged in price from around $100 up to $385. This Cargo Jogger (A trend you'll see into Spring 2023) is from Banana Republic. I have seen great joggers at Athleta and Lululemon also. Make sure the quality is of a higher standard as you will be wearing this pant over and over, you'll want it to wash easily, drape nicely and be thick enough to not see through.
A new classic is the high-waisted wide leg cropped denim jean. This white denim style looks great with a cream cowboy boot and could be styled both casually or even for a day at the office. Some great denim brands for on trend styles are Paige (my favorite), 7 for all Mankind, Citizens of Humanity and Rag & Bone. If you have an X body type this is a great denim as it will show off your waist. If like most of us you carry a little fluff around your waist I would wear my top out and cover my middle.
For a great everywomen - everyday white pant I love these Eileen Fisher Corduroy cotton stretch jeans. They are priced at $188 and I believe it is something you would wear over and over because of its comfort and classic looks. I like to look at price per wearing when I am deciding on how much to spend on a basic piece such as pants. Another brand that is a good investment and fits most women's body types is J.McLaughlin.
Let me know in the comments if you have found any other brands that you love and would recommend for different body types. Happy Styling.
